Pioneering his own path, away from the confines of stereotypes and labels, Greek-British artist D3lta continues to defy expectations with his empowering new single ‘Strange’. Inspired by a relationship he had with somebody who was effortlessly unique, ‘Strange’ is a euphoric celebration of individuality and acceptance.
About the new track, he reveals, “With Strange, I really wanted to communicate the positive ways I was affected by a particular relationship, despite it having ended. The music, and the video, chart the story of acceptance and the relief brought about by accepting uniqueness and individuality, both in yourself and in others. I hope that it just uplifts listeners the way that it does me, and helps them embrace the Strange.”
D3lta collaborated with UK producer Jim Abbiss, known for his work with the likes of Adele, Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian, to bring his recent releases to life in the studio. Following critically acclaimed singles ‘Hypocrites’ and ‘Hey You’, D3lta continues to break free from the confines of a specific genre with ‘Strange’. Classic rock influence from the likes of Aphrodite’s Child and Cockney Rebel underpins the contemporary sounds of Tame Impala and Royal Blood while there are notable hints of pomp reminiscent of Muse at times.
Having grown up in Greece and feeling like his identity was stripped during his time doing mandatory military service, D3lta's music sees a new coming of age for a man who is liberated to explore his music, identity and creativity to their fullest. ‘Strange’ comes as an anthem for others to follow his lead.
