If you think you see, and hear, Jimmie Allen just about everywhere these days, you are not mistaken. This is a young man on a serious roll.
The multi-platinum country music star recently bagged the Country Music Association(CMA) New Artist of the Year award, and the Academy of Country Music(ACM) Male Artist of the Year prize. His new single, “Freedom Was a Highway,” a duet with Brad Paisley, just hit number one on both the Billboard and Mediabase charts. Late last year he received his first-ever GRAMMY Award nomination today for Best New Artist. In 2021 he published a children’s book, “My Voice is a Trumpet.” He serves as Executive Music Producer for the Netflix’s series ‘Titletown High,’ which premiered globally on August 27. In early February, he launched his very first nationwide headline tour. And he recently competed as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars’ 30th season on ABC.
Oh, and wasn’t that Allen on the court playing in the recent NBA Celebrity All-Star game in Cleveland? Yes it was!
In the coming weeks and months, Allen will spread his wings even further. He’s slated to join Dolly Parton in co-hosting the 57th Academy of Country Music Awards on March 7 at Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium. And he will serve as a guest mentor for contestants on season 20 of American Idol, where Allen once made it to the top 40 finalists.
The trailblazing singer songwriter, who made history as the first black artist to launch a career with two consecutive No. 1 hits, “Best Shot” and “Make Me Want To,” off his 2018 debut album ‘Mercury Lane,’ has been winning fans in the world of country music and beyond. Now, these legions of fans will get a chance to grab a piece of Allen for themselves.
On February 23rd, Allen is set to release his very first NFT direct to fans and collectors.
NFT’s are digital collectibles that have become massively popular over the last two years, with many artists, and celebrities from the world of sports and entertainment putting out official designs and other premiums that their fans can buy and trade.
Allen’s NFT drop will include a beautifully animated version of his Gibson SJ-200 guitar, complete with the country music star’s signature.
NFT’s allow artists and other like Allen to go direct to fans with collectibles and other premiums like meet and greets, and reach out to their fan base in ways that were never open to them before. For fans, NFT’s afford them a new way to support and connect with their favorite artists. For collectors, they can get in on the ground floor on a collectible that could one day appreciate in value.
Hailed by GRAMMY.com as one of “5 Black Artists Rewriting Country Music,” Allen has amassed more than 850 million on-demand streams and performed on national television numerous times. He is the very definition of a recording artist who is “on fire.”
