Kids Return are a French duo that has taken the world by storm. Discover their new single “Forever,” out now.

Based in Paris, France, Kids Return was formed in early 2020 by Adrien Rozé and Clément Savoye. Already known nationally throughout France as well as internationally, the duo releases their new single “Forever” along with a stripped-down live session video, surrounded by a children’s choir. Their music is dreamy, romantic and whimsical. Don’t get me wrong, a beautiful future lies ahead for these two.

Kids Return is first and foremost about the deep and lasting friendship between Adrien Rozé and Clément Savoye. The project from the French duo is reminiscent of the Japanese film of the same name directed by Takeshi Kitano, which depicts the depth of false naivete and the power of nostalgia when it blurs the lines between joy and sadness.

Known as one of the most promising groups to recently emerge from France, Kids Return's music is a mix of modern indie pop/rock, described by Les Inrockuptibles as “somewhere between the Californian pop of the Mamas and the Papas, the orchestrations of Vladimir Cosma and the modesty of the soundtracks of Joe Hisaishi. It draws on the energy of Blur and the vocal harmonies of MGMT, while revisiting these Anglo-Saxon influences with the precision and delicacy of the arrangements of a group like Air. The result is a romantic and melancholy melody, a laboratory of emotions…”.

Following the success of their three hit singles " Our Love ", " Melody ", and " Orange Mountains," Kids Return releases their new single "Forever"

“Forever” is an ode to first love and its timeless and powerful impact. Recorded live and produced and mixed with analog gear, Kids Return continues its path of experimentation in sound and composition to create new and vibrant music. Influenced by Gilbert O'sullivan and the Beach Boys, the duo returns with a track where once again the melody resides in a timeless atmosphere where the breath of the magneto tape is very present.
This track announces the release of their first album ‘Forever Melodies”, which will be released in the fall of 2022.

While the original version of the track “Forever” is very produced, the video unveiled today by the duo is a live acoustic session, accompanied by a children’s choir, shot in sequence in 16mm, performed on the guitar by Adrien Rozé and on the casiotone keyboard by Clément, whose instrument was often used for music lessons at school in the 80s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LPMOBtctrM

Touring the world and beyond

The duo has quickly made a name for itself, as they were selected to participate in the Eurosonic festival, the biggest European festival gathering more than 36 countries and 200 bands, known for showcasing the best and most promising musical talent from Europe, and will headline at Rock en Seine festival in august. In addition, Kids Return just became resident DJs at Le Bains, a mythical club in Paris, where they will perform for several months, and will play a headline show in a mythical parisian venue : La Maroquinerie.

In the wake of the Covid-19 lockdown, Kids Return has been performing all over Europe, and they’re also opening for Polo & Pan's and Kid Francescoli’s current tour. They’re also expected to perform at some of the biggest U.S. Festivals in the coming year (SXSW Music Festival, Coachella, The Pitchfork Music Festival, and Lollapalooza), and rumors are that they have an upcoming U.S. tour of headlining performances at legendary venues like The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, The Bowery in NYC and El Rey Theater in Los Angeles.

Watch out for their upcoming shows here.

It seems Kids Return are currently working non-stop! In addition to their own music, Adrien and Clément are currently composing and producing the first album of a very promising singer in France, Billie Chedi.
Very talented in film music, Kids Return are also currently preparing the soundtrack of several short films as well as a feature film called "Midi en Italie", directed by Pablo Cotten and Joseph Rozé. With a very cinematic and emotive sound, the duo has also been invited by many luxury brands to play and record music for high-end fashion shows. In fact, Officine chose the single “Melody” as its soundtrack for their fashion show, and other fashion houses like Yves Saint Laurent have solicited their talent. Having already accomplished so much despite their young age, Kids Return future potential seems limitless.
