Having trained at a young age with Kathryn Price, one of Britain's most internationally sought-after soloists, Stella Cho has since become her equal.
Stella Cho made her debut at the Royal Albert Hall, after winning the Texaco Young Musician of Wales competition in 2005, when she was 15 years old, and never stopped performing ever since, all around the world.
The multi-award-winning cellist Stella Cho, who has been featured on national radio stations (BBC Radio in the U.K., Dutch National Radio, or KUSC in the U.S.), gained international attention when she appeared on the BBC television show "Classical Star" in 2007, with the ambition to perform as a soloist.
Throughout her career, she has toured the world, performing at the world's biggest classical music festivals (Aspen, Yellow Barn, Casals, La Jolla, Banff, and IMS Prussia Cove Open Chamber Music in 2016, and most recently Ravinia in 2021 and 2022).
In 2015, Stella Cho won the “New Master on Tour” prize from Holland Music Session, and gave solo recitals across Europe, including the Royal Concertgebouw and the Slovak Philharmonic Hall, giving her the opportunity to further her solo career.
As an accomplished cellist who has a wide range of skills, Stella Cho has performed with some of the most famous musicians of the 20th century, among them the famed cellist Ralph Kirshbaum, the violinist and conductor of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra Jaime Laredo, the Grammy-nominated cellist Sharon Robinson, the international pianist Joseph Kalichstein, and the violinist and Boston Symphony Orchestra concertmaster for 22 years Joseph Silverstein.
Stella Cho is busy these days : she currently performs with the conductor-less chamber orchestra Delirium Musicum https://deliriummusicum.com/, as well as with the SAKURA Cello Quintet (sakuracellos.com).
