Singer-songwriter Trevor James unveils new track and music video 'Again'

Pennsylvania based singer-songwriter Trevor James today releases his latest song “Again” and its official music video – out now on all major streaming platforms.



Written by Trevor and produced by The Online Recording Studio, “Again” is a soft-pop track which tells a guy-meets-girl love story. It’s about infatuation, the intensity of romance and long-distance relationships.

“Again” combines acoustic guitar, piano and Trevor’s warm vocals which come with impressive range, especially during the bridge and climax of the song.

This latest track follows on from Trevor’s first EP “Breakthrough” which was released in 2020. Since then, Trevor has been working hard on his songwriting and has more releases scheduled for later this summer and fall.

Trevor’s musical inspiration spans multiple genres and eras. He was first inspired by pop-punk heavyweights such as Green Day, The Offspring and Blink 182. As his music tastes diversified, he grew to appreciate past artists such as The Beatles, Elvis and Billy Joel. He’s currently a fan of Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber.

Trevor says: “I identify with all of these artists for various reasons. I identify with Ed Sheeran’s primarily acoustic approach as an artist. And much like Blink 182, I try to not take things too seriously and have learned to laugh at myself. I’m always trying to grow not just as an artist but as a person, and a big part of that has been learning what I can from people smarter and more talented than myself.”

In his own music, Trevor combines a unique blend of strong lyrical content and catchy melodies, coupled with the depth of emotional understanding for people and their experiences. This is one of his biggest inspirations when writing.

He says: “Everyone’s life is unique and brings with it such a wide array of experiences that there are infinite emotions, encounters and adventures to write about. I have this urge inside me to try and capture as many relatable life experiences in my songs and share them with anyone who will listen.”

Trevor always has his voice recorder app handy in case a new melody pops into his head. When writing, he will choose a theme or an idea for a song, and then start writing lyrics based around that theme. His music typically has a pop vibe, leaning on acoustic guitar, synth or piano as the driving force.

Trevor strongly believes that catchiness is key when it comes to writing a successful song. He then records everything in his makeshift bedroom studio and has been working with The Online Recording Studio on production, mixing and mastering.

Trevor says: “I believe music is one of the most powerful things there is in this life. It has the ability to move anyone to feel all types of different emotions. In my opinion this starts with having a catchy melody to plant in the listener’s ears, accompanied by meaningful lyrics.”

Trevor James grew up near the Pocono Mountains in northeast Pennsylvania. His music career began when playing in high school bands with his friends. After graduating his music went on the backburner when he and his friends all went separate ways. In 2019 Trevor decided to pick things up again when he decided to try his hand at solo soft-pop acoustic music. Starting initially with cover videos, the success of his talents saw him quickly amass an impressive social media following which inspired him to have a go at writing his own material.

Trevor’s first EP “Breakthrough” was recorded entirely in his makeshift bedroom studio and was released in 2020. One track from that EP (“Rendezvous”) then went on to feature on local radio station 97.9x Rocks as well as popular Philly station Alt 104.5 where Trevor was also interviewed and performed live.
