Will Joseph Cook today shares a collaboration with American viral pop sensation Tessa Violet on his single ‘Gummy’, taken from his third album Every Single Thing, released earlier this year via Bad Hotel / The Vertex. Following a tour of Europe with Declan McKenna (including a stop at London’s Royal Albert Hall), a run of summer festivals and a UK instore tour, Will is currently on a 23 date tour of North America with Tessa, which will include a stop at New York’s Bowery Ballroom.

Of the collaboration he shares “Gummy came to life literally by me setting out one day to make the most ridiculous song I could write. Day 1 it was just a synth bass line, the beat and the opening gummy chant. I didn’t think I would use it for anything but I kept coming back, plus all my friends were bopping to it. As I built it up it transformed into this very earnest dreamy love letter.

Transforming the track into a feature version was really special. Tessa and I have been fans of each other’s music for years. I feel like she approaches her music with the same fearless fun energy I try to create, whilst still having lyrics full of heart and meaning. When I heard her first pass on GUMMY I instantly knew it would slap. We’re currently on tour together across North America which has been an awesome experience so far.”

It comes complete with a colourful video directed by frequent collaborator Bertie Gilbert which sees an animated gummy bear traversing London with Will and Tessa guiding him on his journey.
