18-year-old platinum pop singer-songwriter GAYLE has unveiled her introspective new EP, ‘a study of the human experience volume two’, available now via Atlantic Records/Arthouse Records.
“every choice i have ever made has gotten me to this very moment,” says GAYLE. “some i made subconsciously, and some i’ve made deliberately. either way, every moment of the human experience i chose to live made me who i am. i’m not always proud of who i am or things i’ve done, but i am who i am, and i can’t change that. a study of the human experience volume two talks about the moments that happened in my life that lead to where i am. i don’t always do the healthiest, the smartest, the most mature, the most reasonable or responsible things- i just do what i want in the moment and learn from my mistakes.”
‘a study of the human experience volume two’ is highlighted by acclaimed new tracks ‘snow angels’ ‘indieedgycool’, ‘god has a sense of humor’ and ‘fmk (with blackbear)’, the latter of which instantly earned over 1 million streams in the first weekend following its release. The playfully chaotic duet - which sees GAYLE joining forces with platinum singer, songwriter, and producer blackbear - arrived alongside an animated video, directed by award-winning Belgian director Chris Ullens (Rex Orange County, Poppy).
A packed year for GAYLE is highlighted most recently by her Nashville Songwriter Awards nod in their ‘10 Songs I Wish I’d Written’ list. 2022 has also seen GAYLE traveling on her own sold-out headline run, shows alongside My Chemical Romance, and tours supporting Tate McRae and AJR. The Nashville-based artist is currently lighting up an array of festival stages around the world, with recent performances at Lollapalooza, the Reading and Leeds, and Firefly Music Festival.
