In the span of ten tracks, Ziggy Alberts serves a taste of Australian warmth and uplifting philosophy across the borders. His new real-time recorded album 'DANCING IN THE DARK' finds Ziggy on a quest to find the light in the darkness, aimed to encourage others not to despair, even during these unprecedented times.
Throughout his career, Ziggy Alberts has unpacked his mantras and proven to own the potion of positivity and open-minded perspectives. His previous record, 'searching for freedom,' promoted social togetherness and the importance of letting go.
'DANCING IN THE DARK' celebrates elements of future folk that push the relatability of the record. Ziggy Alberts elaborates on the initial inspiration behind the album: "The very first inspiration for DANCING IN THE DARK came to me on a plane in 2020. I had not even yet finished searching for freedom, but through creating that album, I started dreaming about where I would like to go next. I wanted to embark on an exploration of what I call 'future folk': time codes, antidotes to dissonance, new soundscapes & topics, tuned backing vocals, and synth bass, all intertwined in a folk foundation. I didn't expect the added Latin influence in some tracks, which is the beauty of letting an album grow and change along the way".
Throughout the year, Alberts shared individual time codes from this collection of ten tracks in regular single releases. The first one, 'I BELIEVE,' jump-started Alberts' real-time recording voyage. Before the album reveal, he dropped 'TATTOOS,' 'THE GREAT DIVIDE,' THE SUN & THE SEA,' 'CAMPFIRE' and 'REWIND.'
Having a solid home base of fans in Australia, Ziggy Alberts is establishing a one-to-watch title overseas with a highly anticipated tour coming to the UK in May/June 2023. He also lands London's favorite O2 Academy Brixton.
