LA singer-songwriter Brinck share video for 'Wannabe'

Brinck is a singer-songwriter based out of Los Angeles, CA. The indie artist started travelling back and forth from Iowa at the young age of 16 to pursue her dreams in California. She has featured, top lined and written on many songs reaching 6 million streams overall. After many years of writing and working on music, she finally released her own project. Her debut EP “Here with me” dropped in March last year and has collected half a million streams and continues to make further impressions as we head into 2023.
The single which gained the most attention was without doubt stunning alt-pop track ‘Wannabe’, which hones in on Brinck’s songwriting in a real grand and understatedly brilliant manner. Muted guitars and huge centred drums really bring that vintage Lana Del Rey vibe to proceedings, alongside Brinck’s effortlessness that sinks you into her floaty and dreamy melodies.
She now exclusively shares the video for ‘Wannabe’, shot entirely on film and it really shows a totally different side to Brinck. The film really gives off that 70s vibe, where Brinck is looking to finally find herself in the beautiful new city of LA that she now finds herself in. This uncovers her sexuality and feels like the perfect serendipitous way to do so, with the dazzling visuals perfectly accompanying the audio especially in the last part of the video.
Brinck says ‘“I wrote wannabe about my experience first moving to LA and thinking I’m the shit. I was a goody two shoes straight out of Iowa and I thought I was going to be the next big thing the minute I got to LA. When in reality I hit a party phase, fell flat on my face and had virtually nothing going on. I had a hard time connecting with the other girls and people out here, everyone I met I thought “One day you’re gonna wanna be my friend one day, my girl”.
‘Wannabe’ the video feels like the next chapter is Brinck’s unique alt-pop world, taking you to another place entirely with the brilliantly executed shots feeling like you’re in her own self directed movie. And with her massive social media following, it seems like the sky's the limit for Brinck in 2023.
