Fleur East is encouraging people across the UK to spice up their lives on Thursday April 27th this year by dressing up as their favourite pop star and raising money for Cash for Kids – a charity that helps support disadvantaged children across the UK. The Hits Radio Breakfast Show presenter is launching the fundraiser by dressing up as her favourite ever Spice Girl Mel B. She was joined by her Hits Radio colleague Gemma Atkinson, who threw it back to the 90s as well, by dressing up as Liam Gallagher to inspire others to do the same! The charity has set a target of raising £1million as the cost-of-living crisis continues to hit those most vulnerable the hardest.

Fleur East said: ‘For many families 2023 looks set to be just as hard financially as 2022. That’s why I’m determined to help Cash for Kids make a difference and reach more families than ever before. The bar has been set high but I know how brilliant and supportive the public are and I can’t wait for everyone to share what popstar they’re going to be. Shout out to all the other Spice Girls fans – say you’ll be there and help us smash that target!’

Cash for Kids is Bauer Media’s UK charity and this year other Bauer Audio UK brands including KISS, Magic and Absolute will come together for the first time to support Cash for Kids Day. All donations will go towards helping families with the current Cost of Living crisis as, more than ever, the most vulnerable children in our communities need help. Families, who were barely managing before, are now finding themselves being pushed into poverty. Paying for the essentials such as heating costs or putting a meal on the table are simply becoming unaffordable.

And if you want to get involved but dressing up isn’t for you there are plenty of other ways to fundraise from holding a music themed bake sale to live streaming your own DJ set or hosting a music quiz. Sign up for your free fundraising pack at cashforkids.org.uk/cfkday
