THE HU
GLOBALLY ACCLAIMED MONGOLIAN ROCK TRAILBLAZERS THE HU REVEAL NEW VERSION OF “BLACK THUNDER” FEATURING SERJ TANKIAN & DL of BAD WOLVES AND ANNOUNCE DELUXE EDITION OF 2022 SOPHOMORE ALBUM ‘RUMBLE OF THUNDER’

THE HU unveiled the video for the deluxe album’s second single, the volcanic anthem “Black Thunder (ft. Serj Tankian and DL of Bad Wolves).” Following the release of the stirring single “This Is Mongol (ft. William Duvall of Alice In Chains),” in February, “Black Thunder (ft. Serj Tankian and DL of Bad Wolves)” includes a refreshed look at the culturally shaped track with a new perspective and English-translated vocals. Its original “visually stunning” (Louder Sound) music video was filmed in THE HU’s home country of Mongolia, logging 3 million views to date. The video for Serj Tankian and DL featured track is directed by Michael Lombardi (The Retailiators, Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach)

“‘Black Thunder’—the latest single from our sophomore album, ‘Rumble of Thunder’ is the composition we worked on the longest, and because of that, we recorded many different variations of the song,” shares THE HU band leader GALA. “The lyrics and the video have several different meanings on the surface as well as on a deeper level. Therefore, every version of ‘Black Thunder’ carries a certain unique idea. Our producer and our band members were amazed by the additions that were made by DL and Serj and their unique singing styles, which added to our beloved song. DL’s powerful vocals, topped by the Serj’s signature voice and one-of-a-kind Armenian-American style, is shedding different light to The HU’s music. We hope our fans enjoy this featured version and feel the soul of the song through their ears.”

TANKIAN shares his experience working with THE HU, stating: "I had discovered the Hu’s music from a YouTube video that a friend sent me and was instantly struck by their powerful and delightful merging of Mongolian folk and metal. A few years back I had scored a film called Furious where we also used the legendary Tuva singing and heavy guitars. So, when they reached out to collaborate, I was intrigued. I appreciate the pride with which they represent their culture through music. It led me down a historical rabbit hole of Mongolians and Armenia. Genghis Khan conquered Armenia along with the rest of Europe, but the Mongols also later teamed up with Armenia to fight the Turkish hordes. Happy I had the chance to collaborate with the Hu and learn all of this in the process."

Says DL: “Working on this version of The HU’s ‘Black Thunder’ was so much fun and so different from what I normally get to do. Their vision, their voices…they’re special. This is more than music, it’s a movement, it’s culture, and I’m honored that I was presented with the opportunity to be part of it.”

FROMS ASHES TO NEW
ANNOUNCE DETAILS ON NEW ALBUM ‘BLACKOUT’ WITH DARK COMICAL MUSIC VIDEO TO THEIR NEW SINGLE “HATE ME TOO”

FROM ASHES TO NEW are ready to break boundaries with their hybrid, high-energy mix of hard rock, nu-metal/hip-hop, electronic and alternative that’s underlined throughout their new album, BLACKOUT, due this summer via Better Noise Music.
FROM ASHES TO NEW also released another sample of BLACKOUT with their latest single, “Hate Me Too,”. The anthemic track is paired with a cheeky music video with a dark yet comical twist on getting out of a toxic relationship.

“So many of us fall victim to the classic toxic relationship,” says Matt Brandyberry. “Feeling like you can’t live without someone but knowing you’d be better off if you could. Oftentimes these feelings are mutual, but neither of you can see it. Sometimes we just need an anthem to remind us that being stuck isn’t always the only option and violence never is."

NOTHING MORE
REVEAL NEW VERSION OF ‘SPIRITS’ SINGLE “BEST TIMES” FEAT. LACEY STURM (FLYLEAF) WITH NEW MUSIC VIDEO

3x Grammy-nominated NOTHING MORE, lauded as one of mainstream rock’s most powerful and distinctive acts, have teamed up with rock singer/songwriter Lacey Sturm (Flyleaf) who is featured on a new version of the single “BEST TIMES” from NOTHING MORE’s 2022 album SPIRITS via Better Noise Music.

The music video for “BEST TIMES (Feat. Lacey Sturm)” was directed by Michael Lombardi (The Retaliators, Papa Roach, The HU) and takes an inside look at a couple’s relationship and how life’s ‘best times’ can sometimes pass us by without being acknowledged and is a reminder to appreciate those moments as they occur.

“This song is a real special one,” reveals NOTHING MORE front man JONNY HAWKINS. “It’s definitely one of the most positive feel-good songs we’ve ever written and it obviously stands out on the album by being that ray of hope too. I didn’t think it could get any better, but when we thought about featuring another singer and Lacey’s name came up it was a no-brainer. She’s been a shining light and is one of those singers that makes you feel and believe every word out of her mouth whether you agree with it or not. We knew her voice would take it over the top… and that’s exactly what she did! We couldn’t be more proud to have her collaborate with us on this and to get it out to the world for everyone to feel and embrace when you need a song to help get you through.”

STURM comments: “I connected with Jonny's story about his family struggles with his mother and sister. I love the painful beauty in any art that comes from wrestling with mental health and addiction. I've always looked for common ground with artists who deal with suicide prevention. My own struggle against self-destruction is also a struggle to not tear my loved ones apart. There is a perspective shift in this song. Like a suffocating cloud, the heaviness of life turns to thankfulness and even joy over what matters most. Pain and loss can turn the lights on inside us, allowing us to see the good, all the ‘Best Times,’ we couldn't see before. I'm relieved to be reminded by this song to remember what matters most and find gratitude. I need it.”
