The Royal Albert Hall has announced a partnership with The Great Escape to present a stage at this year’s festival in Brighton on Friday 12 May, featuring four exciting new artists from around the world.

Presenting a mixed line-up of new music at the 300-capacity One Church Brighton, the Royal Albert Hall stage will feature Canadian indie-rock band Sylvie, Welsh impressionistic singer Strawberry Guy, Irish singer-songwriter Sorcha Richardson, and Australian sister band Germein.

Matthew Todd, Director of Programming at the Royal Albert Hall, said: “We’re delighted to be working with The Great Escape again. New and emerging artists provide the backbone for the whole music industry, and we’re always excited to lend our platform to the next generation of talent.”

The Great Escape is a festival for new music, showcasing over 500 emerging artists from all over the world in 30+ walkable venues across the city and a pop-up festival site on Brighton Beach. It’s the first place to discover new artists and see them in an intimate setting before they go on to headline major festival stages.

Australian sister band Germain – Georgia, Ella, & Clara Germein – grew up jamming together on their family farm in Adelaide. Inspired by the vocal harmonies of iconic bands such as Queen and Fleetwood Mac, Germein were shortlisted in the Top 6 Unsigned UK Acts in a competition run by HOAX to open for Ed Sheeran on the Closing Night of his Record-Breaking Divide World Tour.

Sorcha Richardson is an Irish singer-songwriter from Dublin. Her second album, ‘Smiling Like An Idiot’, highlights a pursuit of happiness and the full-blown intensity of new love.

Welsh-born songwriter Strawberry Guy blends truthful lyrics with lush arrangements to conjure new emotive worlds, inspired by composers of the Romantic period and other classical artists of the 1800s, such as Debussy and Ravel.

Inviting close friends and inspiring musical colleagues to gather and record at his own garage in Silverlake CA, Ben Schwab (Sylvie) channels his years of writing, arranging, recording, and playing with bands Golden Daze and Drugdealer into writing and recording expansive original arrangements.

Entry to the concerts will be via a festival ticket, available at below.
