LP Giobbi fully reveals her long awaited debut album, ‘Light Places’. The highly personal album pulls from the support of friends like SOFI TUKKER (“If Love Is A Skill”), Le Chev (“Follow The Loop) and DJ Tennis & Joseph Ashworth (“All In A Dream”), spotlights the emerging talents of Little Jet (”Can't Let You Go”), Caroline Byrne (“Another Life”, “Feels Just Like It”) and Monogem (“Body Breathe”), and showcases some of LP’s most energising and intentional work to date (“Georgia”).

Accompanying the release is an intimate studio performance video for "Feels Just Like It", with LP Giobbi on keys, Caroline Byrne on vocals and Michael Cheever (Le Chev) on synth. The video is part of a package of studio performances directed and edited by Elliott Watson, produced by Honora Productions, which include a previously released stripped-back rendition of "If Love Is a Skill" featuring Sophie Hawley-Weld of SOFI TUKKER on vocals with more to come.

‘Light Places’ arrives at the precipice of an extraordinary rise to superstardom, having recently played standout performances at Coachella and Miami Music Week, opened and played alongside the imitable Pete Tong at London’s O2 Academy in December, offered the first official remix album for Jerry Garcia’s seminal ‘Garcia’ in January, and was recently nominated for Best Producer at DJ Mag’s Best of North America awards. Early love for ‘Light Places’ comes from the likes of Billboard, SPIN, GRAMMY.com, DJ Mag, Relix and more.

‘Light Places’ stands as a comprehensive declaration to who LP Giobbi is as an artist, bringing an organic freedom found in improvised music (from long-standing inspirations Bill Evans and The Grateful Dead) and spontaneous collaboration to incorporate core principles of simplicity to often intricate structures of dance music, making for a set of songs that simply feel good. The album was created in large part among the clouds, in airplanes high above the weights of reality and other distractions where LP could easily envision ideas and melodies before materialising them in a studio.

The recording process was a journey itself which challenged LP in new ways, expanding her artistic abilities beyond the confines of standalone singles. It also allowed her to experiment outside the realms of the dance floor - linking back to her improvised jazz and jam band foundations. Featuring collaborations with the likes of SOFI TUKKER, Little Jet, Caroline Byrne, Monogem, DJ Tennis & Joseph Ashworth throughout the album, ‘Light Places’ sees LP celebrate the joys of collaboration, improvisation and creating music through friendship - paying homage to the people and music that shaped her as an artist.

LP Giobbi is currently embarking on a road trip in a fully outfitted Airstream across the US throughout May with DJ Tennis for their 'All In An Airstream Tour'. This one-of-a-kind and highly immersive tour will make stops for pop up performances in unique spaces while interacting with local musicians and visiting local attractions in cities including Asheville, Nashville, New Orleans, Marfa, Tucson, Pioneertown, Berkeley, Big Sur, Sun Valley, and Austin. Special guests Chloé Caillet and Anden will be joining along the way. LP will continue on an exciting string of performances including festival spots at Lightning in a Bottle and Tomorrowland, along a handful of Dead House afterparties for Dead & Company’s final tour and a residency at Austin’s Superstition.

‘Light Places’, the debut album from LP Giobbi, is out now on Counter Records.
