On Saturday, Hampton Court Palace Festival opened its gates for the very final time this year, as hitmaker Rick Astley brought his soulful sound to the iconic Tudor palace, giving an electrifying set packed with sing along classics, including Together Forever, Whenever You Need Somebody and mega-hit Never Gonna Give You Up.
Performing live from the intimate Base Court in the stunning grounds of Hampton Court Palace, Rick Astley was the final artist to take to the stage, following eight nights of unforgettable performances in a truly unique setting. The first week of the festival saw the ‘Empress of Soul’ Gladys Knight open the show, followed by legendary electronic duo Soft Cell who earned 4* reviews for their rousing performance. Grace Jones, Kool & The Gang and Kaiser Chiefs also took to the stage, while this week included a sell-out performance from Tom Jones and a rousing concert from global sensations Björn Again.
Before the concerts, audiences headed to the Palace early to indulge in delicious street food and British Fine Foods luxurious picnics in the East Front Gardens under record breaking summer sunshine.
While 2023’s festival is now concluded, tickets will soon be on sale for next year’s events, with the star-studded line-up being announced in the coming months.
Hampton Court Palace Festival is a series of truly special and unique open-air concerts. Artists perform in an intimate 3,000-seat auditorium in Base Court, set against the backdrop of Henry VIII’s magnificent Tudor Palace.
