Multi-platinum BRIT nominated singer-songwriter Calum Scott is unleashing his much-anticipated brand-new single, "Lighthouse," this Friday 19th January following the resounding success of his 2023 summer hit, "At Your Worst".
“‘Lighthouse’ is a story about light in the darkness, the hope on the horizon, even if it’s in the distance and almost out of view it reminds you of what’s important and what makes you feel safe,” says Calum. “It was written at a time when I was missing home and just getting a FaceTime or a text can be that lighthouse for me. I really pushed my limits to record the vocals on this, tried to sing with as much passion and raw emotion as I could - the production really helped with that and makes the story feel monstrous and powerful and will fill the stadiums I’m about to sing at whilst supporting Ed Sheeran!”
Calum Scott's 2018 debut album Only Human has garnered over 13 billion combined global streams and features his platinum-selling smash “You Are The Reason” (1 billion views), which is now the second most popular song for a first dance behind Ed Sheeran & Beyonce’s "Perfect" duet according to The Sunday Times. Additionally, Calum’s stripped-back, platinum-certified and BRIT Award nominated cover of Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own" (518 million views) has captivated hearts worldwide.
Meanwhile, he also joins Ed Sheeran on his 2024 Mathematics stadium tour which kicked off earlier this week which will span over 20 dates across Asia and Europe.
It's not the first time that Calum has worked with UK pop royalty, recently collaborating with one of the most successful bands in British chart history, Take That, for the rework of their hit single, “Greatest Day” which they performed at Windsor Castle for His Majesty, King Charles III’s coronation celebration, gracing the stage alongside pop stalwarts, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie.
In a series of dance-ready collaborations, the last 18 months has seen him join forces with Grammy nominated DJ and producer, Jax Jones for “Whistle” (23 million views), Kygo and Gryffin for "Woke Up In Love" (6.9 million views) and Lost Frequencies for the release of 2023 BRIT nominated “Where Are You Now” (139 million views) which became the biggest dance song of 2022.
