House music icon Robbie Rivera and up and coming British talents James Revitt and Billie Stockley have teamed up for a summer anthem released today titled “Stay Awake (With Me).”
The powerful dance track sees producers Rivera and Revitt craft an infectious melody, with a euphoric chorus and hypnotic piano-driven feel good house vibe, while Stockley’s distinctive and poignant vocals shine throughout.
Stockley sings; “like a tidal wave, and I’ve just learnt your name, but you’ve got me feeling some kind of way,” the single touches on when something feels right, make it work and don’t ask why. “Stay Awake (With Me)” is available worldwide through independent multi Billboard charting UK label So, Let's Talk, whose catalogue includes music by Mark Morrison, East 17 and Roachford.
Known as one of the most accomplished house producers around, Robbie Rivera has been a key figure within the dance music scene for years. He recently released a single with Gabry Ponte on Armada Music called “Hated On (Funkatron),” which was a rework of his classic single “Funk-A-Tron” that reached No.14 in the UK Independent Singles Chart in 2002. Rivera was once named by DJ Mag as one of the ‘Top 100’ most influential DJs and has been called upon for remixes by the likes of Kylie Minogue, Madonna, Basement Jaxx and Tiesto. His single “Bang” was a huge success, reaching No.1 on the UK dance chart in 2000.
Telford-based musician James Revitt is one to watch. He has created a unique space for himself, not only as an electronic artist/house producer, but also as a drummer and one half of the rock duo The Balatinos. Billie Stockley is a breathtakingly talented singer-songwriter, also from Telford, in Shropshire and a student at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA).
This isn’t the first time James Revitt and Billie Stockley have collaborated, last summer they released a single together titled “Forever” which reached No.9 on Music Week’s official UK Upfront club chart earlier this year.
