Meels releases her debut studio album, ‘Tales From A Bird’s Bedroom’. With evocative storytelling, lush melodies and an immersive sonic atmosphere, ‘Tales from a Bird's Bedroom’ promises to leave a lasting, profound impact.

Meels' debut album, ‘Tales from a Bird's Bedroom,’ blends abstract lyricism akin to Fiona Apple with Regina Spektor's melodic touch, resulting in a uniquely absorbing experience. Produced by Peter Groenwald and Mark Campbell in the vibrant music hub of Nashville, the record is an innovative and timeless soundscape, allowing Meels' expressive vocals to navigate personal yet universally relatable themes. The album intricately weaves elements of nostalgia, nature, and complex human connections into a rich sonic tapestry, transforming mere songs into profound stories and heartfelt confessions. Meels articulates these moments with a wisdom far beyond her years, drawing listeners into her introspective world. Speaking on the creative process of the album, Meels shares,

“The seven songs on the record, which were handpicked out of the many songs I had written over the past four years, were written sporadically throughout my years in New York City. Since they were all from different eras of my life I was very hell bent on recording them all in one place, over a short amount of time, with the same producers so the project would feel incredibly cohesive.”

‘Tales from a Bird's Bedroom’ is a portal into Meels' inner world, painted with the hues of her hometown's redwoods and sewn together through a vibrant patchwork of experiences. The focus track, Boyle Park, is a tender indie-folk anthem, offering Meels’ unique perspective on youth, growing up and discovering oneself. With captivating vocal harmonies and mesmerising, sweeping melodic lines, Meels pays homage to her upbringing.

Speaking on Boyle Park, Meels shares, “I wrote Boyle Park in my freshman year of college. I was feeling sorry for myself, reminiscing and as I usually do, picked up my guitar to try and redirect some of that sadness into something tangible and productive. Boyle Park, our local baseball field, was where my friends and I found our fun. Often when I sit down to write I feel like I become somewhat possessed, like the song is already written somewhere and comes through me. My favourite songs are the ones that are written in 20 minutes, Boyle Park was one of those songs.”

‘Tales From A Bird’s Bedroom’ is more than just an album release; it's an invitation to witness a narrative that will echo for years. The album's richly layered storytelling and airy sonic atmosphere promise to leave a lasting impact on listeners, securing Meels’ place as an important artist to watch this year.
