Danish artist Nikoline Corlin, known by her stage name NikoCorlin, is set to release her new EP, If You Can Dream It, a five-song collection that delves deep into themes of ambition, fragile relationships, and pervasive sexism in the music industry. The EP will be released via Carrie Management.

After the success of her debut album, NikoCorlin decided to take a bold step to push her creative boundaries. "Last winter, I went to New York after releasing my debut album. I locked myself in a small room for five weeks to write," says Corlin. "The isolation was essential to drown out the noise and focus entirely on my music. I wanted to confront my self-doubt head-on and create without any outside influence."

The result is, If You Can Dream It, an EP born from intense introspection and a desire to challenge the status quo. Each of the five tracks was crafted in a small room in the heart of Brooklyn, reflecting a raw and unfiltered journey through Corlin's artistic vision.

To bring her vision to life, Corlin collaborated with a team of her favourite musicians, including Julius Amdisen (Kind mod Kind), Milo Duckert Aurvig, and Emil Emborg (Neon Priest). The EP's latest single, "Late To The Party," serves as a poignant critique of the gender imbalance in the Danish music scene, highlighting the challenges women face in a male-dominated industry.

"The five songs on this EP explore the different facets of being an artist, especially as a woman in the music industry," Corlin explains. "Some tracks have an intimate, introspective vibe, while others are more outspoken, inviting listeners to dance through their insecurities."

Corlin's approach to the EP was rooted in simplicity and emotional depth. "I worked with simple compositions, large synth surfaces, and multiple vocal tracks that capture a range of emotions—from dry and sorrowful to searching and clear. The expression was meant to encapsulate the feeling of being lonely in the crowd, the chaos, and the music, in an attempt to find one's place as an artist," she says.

The title, If You Can Dream It, encapsulates the essence of the EP. "The title is a reference to the idea that as long as you can dream and believe in it, it will succeed. Dreams can also be the ones that hurt us the most if they don’t come true, but they remain our driving force. They are the one thing no one can take away from us," Corlin reflects.

If You Can Dream, is a testament to NikoCorlin's resilience and artistic growth, offering a powerful and personal insight into her world.
