LA-based singer-songwriter Binoy is thrilled to announce the release of his highly anticipated debut album, The Great Alone, a project that showcases his unique brand of "borderless pop". Drawing from his Indian heritage and East African upbringing, Binoy merges cinematic pop soundscapes with a deep sense of personal storytelling, creating music that transcends boundaries. The Great Alone, is a sonic journey that delves into the complexities of solitude, longing, and self-exploration.

Born and raised in Kenya, Binoy’s passion for music began at an early age through the piano and alto saxophone, fueling a lifelong love for composition and storytelling. Influenced by artists like Taylor Swift, Fleetwood Mac, ABBA, and MIKA, he has developed a sound that is as diverse as his global influences. As a queer person of colour, Binoy’s music reflects his personal experiences, and his mission is to create a sense of community and belonging through his evocative lyricism and rich, cinematic soundscapes.

After years of development, Binoy spent over two years crafting, The Great Alone, working alongside producers Arthur Besna (Nessa Barrett, bludnymyph) and Tripped N Sat. The album is a deeply personal project, with every instrument played by the trio and all lyrics written by Binoy. Unlike many albums, the songs were crafted in the order of the tracklist, giving the project a natural, unfolding narrative. Each track reveals a different facet of loneliness, from longing and envy to peace and introspection.

“Loneliness became the central theme,” Binoy reflects. “I realized that my constant pursuit of the unavailable was a reflection of my own emotional unavailability. The Great Alone, became a metaphor for solitude, visualized as a lush canyon explored by a lone wanderer.” The album captures this emotional journey in a raw, authentic way, resonating with anyone who has ever felt alone or misunderstood.

The Great Alone, offers listeners a cohesive tale that represents not only Binoy’s experiences but universal themes of isolation, identity, and growth. It’s an introspective look at his twenties and the path toward becoming the person he is today. Through his poetic lyricism and rich, cross-cultural influences, Binoy invites listeners to connect with his world and find solace in shared experiences.
