This Autumn, Norwegian counter-culture and innovative indie outfit fucales return with a powerful journey into psychedelia and innovate alternative rock in the form of “The New Way Of Existing”. A truly powerful, frenetic and unique piece that showcases the Norwegian outfits true disregard for genre boundaries or expectation. It’s a track that sets the tone wonderfully, with screeching guitars building from the start, before the verses introduce a groove rich drum piece and skat-like vocal parts.

Despite their young age, ranging from 17-21, fucales is already widely acknowledged as one of Norway’s most explosive live indie acts. With wild and melodic trumpets, psychedelic guitars and a explosive rhythm section, the band has won “Best New Band” in the Bergenbased showcase “Eggstock Festival”, played Bergen Showcase Vill Vill Vest, the “do it together” festival HÁTÍÐNI on Iceland, and Blå in Oslo. They’ve also picked up critical acclaim from the likes of Wonderland Magazine | DIY | Earmilk and more for their unique approach to alternative rock.

Their musical expression ranges from the dreamy and aggressive, like Sonic Youth or My Bloody Valentine, but also touches elements from jazz and pop music.

“With “New Way of Existing” we try to capture the feeling of paralysis. With pounding guitars reminiscent of our all time favorites, Fontaines DC, and a free floating vocal style inspired by Björk, we’re thrown into an intense reality of modern alienation and the search for meaning". - fucales

“From falling in love to taking a rebellious stance against society, the group tap into various situations for their music, shining a light on things that can often get lost between the lines.” - Wonderland Magazine

“As far as most storms go, fucales’ is one most of us wouldn’t mind basking in.” - Atwood Magazine

“A loud cacophony of noise, drawing influences from the likes of Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine in its dreamy/aggressive contrast and dips into sensible pop elements.” - D.I.Y

Band members:
Leon Torskangerpoll, guitar and vocals (20), Mari Singstad, bass and vocals (18), Simon Stenersen, vocal and trumpet (21) og Mikkel Baltasar on drums (17).
