Introducing Hearts2Hearts, the highly-anticipated new girl group by SM Entertainment, the K-pop powerhouse behind Red Velvet and aespa. The eight-member group announces their arrival today with ‘The Chase’, the intriguing debut single setting the scene for what is sure to be an exciting year ahead for these rising stars.
‘The Chase’ is co-written by BRIT Award-winning R&B girl group FLO with renowned K-pop songwriter and producer KENZIE, who has worked on career-defining hits for Girls’ Generation, SHINee, NCT and aespa. Emerging from a dreamy and mysterious soundscape, the lyrics carry a confident message about forging your own path while taking listeners on an intriguing sonic journey into Hearts2Hearts’ new world.
‘The Chase’ is accompanied by the b-side ‘Butterflies’, a hopeful R&B mid-tempo that blends a rich bassline, guitar melodies and the group’s warm vocal harmonies. Lyrically, it expresses Hearts2Hearts’ empowering message of unity and boldly facing today, uplifted by those around you on the same journey.
Hearts2Hearts is JIWOO, CARMEN, YUHA, STELLA, JUUN, A-NA, IAN, YE-ON. They are the first girl group launched by SM Entertainment since global superstars aespa five years ago.
Buzz around the group sky-rocketed after SM dropped a teaser at the SMTOWN Live concert in Seoul last month before their group name was even announced. The trailer for their debut single swiftly racked up over 1.7 million views in two weeks, spawning countless excited fan reaction posts from around the globe.
Hearts2Hearts is set to make their UK debut performance at SMTOWN LIVE in London on 28 June at Allianz Stadium Twickhenham, alongside over a dozen of their labelmates including Red Velvet, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, aespa, RIIZE and more. The epic stadium concert is in celebration of the legendary K-pop entertainment agency’s 30th anniversary. Tickets go on sale 27 February via Konne Ticket.
