Emo rock icons My Chemical Romance have announced a Deluxe Edition of their seminal 3x-platinum sophomore album, "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge," set for release on June 6th, 2025 – marking the 21st anniversary of its original debut. Fans can pre-order/pre-save the expanded edition now.
The "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge (Deluxe Edition)" has been remixed and remastered by Grammy Award-winning producer Rich Costey and will be available on CD, digitally, and in multiple colored vinyl variants, including a striking zoetrope 2LP. The 2LP vinyl formats will be 3-sided, with the fourth side featuring a special etching, making them highly sought-after collector's items for the devoted "MCRmy." The release also features brand new artwork.
Adding to the celebratory package, the Deluxe Edition includes four bonus tracks recorded for BBC Radio 1 in 2005. These previously unreleased live versions include anthems "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)," "Helena," and "The Ghost Of You," alongside a live rendition of "You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison," originally a B-side. The first bonus track, the raw and energetic live version of "I'm Not OK (I Promise)," is available digitally now.
Fueled by signature generational anthems like the 4x-platinum "Helena" and the 3x-platinum "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)," "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge" was a commercial and critical triumph, achieving platinum certification within a year of its release. The album is widely credited with redefining 21st-century rock and catapulting My Chemical Romance to global stardom. It has since been lauded by publications like Rolling Stone, Spin, NME, and Alternative Press as a defining emo album of its era, selling over 7 million copies worldwide.
My Chemical Romance's enduring impact is evident in their upcoming sold-out 2025 North American stadium tour, "Long Live": The Black Parade," which sold out within hours of tickets going on sale.
The "Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge (Deluxe Edition)" promises to be a must-have for longtime fans and a potent introduction for new listeners to this pivotal album in modern rock history.
