Music should be about playing live and last time I was lucky enough to see The Stereophonics they made great music sound brilliant. The crisp and vibrant production of ‘Live From Dakota' just reinforces the point. First track Superman, taken from the bands return to form album ‘Language. Sex. Violence. Other?' starts the journey through the worthy back catalogue they have mustered. Including such classics as ‘A Thousand Trees', ‘The Bar Tender And The Thief', ‘Mr Writer' and B-Side, ‘Carrot Cake and Wine' you are assured a pulse raising double action CD that splutters and screams at you through the speakers. ‘Live From Dakota' climaxes with ‘Dakota', which is arguably the best song the band has written to date and gets the hairs bristling with its steadfast intensity. This band clearly love playing live and you will clearly love listening to them.
