Orianthi is an artist I have heard of rather than heard, but from hearing this single, I will be listening to a lot more – she really is the complete package.

The single is a funky kind of Blues with superb guitar and a vocal that is soulful and sharp. She has played with a list of top class names – Alice Cooper, Richie Sambora, Dave Stewart and was due to play the London dates with Michael Jackson before his death – and her guitar playing definitely shows just why she was picked. After opening with a few blistering licks over Ed Roth’s bluesy keys in the hooky intro, Orianthi shares on the track what it really feels like to meet that special person. The production by Kevin Shirley is spot on, clean and spare.

It is her third single with Woodward Avenue and I will definitely be going back to hear the earlier ones.
