‘One More Reason’ kicks off with a fiery fast pace riff, a combination between the modern day Wolf Alice and classic rock Joan Jett. The track feels relentless between the clashing drums, guided by a gritty guitar and these sleek but raw and spirited vocals.
The sound created goes hand in hand with the repetition of the lyrics “Give me one more reason to love you” which in one sense feels like pleading and the other side suggests an air of dominance at the singer is in the driving seat and the listener is at her mercy.
Explaining the song’s meaning and how it came about, RockSound reported the band’s vocalist Tallulah Sim-Savage said:
“When we were at Stella’s [Mozgawa, of Warpaint] studio in Joshua Tree we were jamming together and Lola started with this bass riff, instantly Stella said ‘We have to record this’.”
“We got it down as a jam idea and over the next months we wrote One More Reason. We wanted it to feel like the opening song at a festival set, we wanted it to be relentless and addictive.
“It’s about loving someone so much you kinda hate it, which is relentless and addictive.”
Alongside new music, the band have also announced a whole host of nationwide tour dates across March and April this year.
‘One More Reason’ is the third single the band has released, prior to their album launch Hot Shock, out March 7 via Marathon Artists, following on ‘She’s Got A Problem’ and ‘Wanna Be A Doll.’
