Glasgow dreamy rock band Shambolics took the stage at Yellow Arch on Thursday with relentless energy from start to finish.
Our night kicks off with support from an array of local lads Harry Lyon and Sunburst, who warmed the crowd up with a set of original tunes and fan favourite covers.
Shambolics enter the stage with an air of swagger in their walk, and are met by a sea of ‘Yorkshire’ chants making giving them a proper steel-city welcome.
They kick off this set with the track ‘Influencer’ which sends the crowd wild, slamming into each other and bouncing around with the same energy the band are giving to their sound.
We move through the set with fan favourites like ‘Sharp as a Razor’ which shows off the bands instrumental talents at full force and this is reiterated when they play ‘Chasing a Disaster’ as well.
Luckily for us, we’re also treated to a new song during the Sheffield set, titled ‘All You’ve Ever Known’ which is met with appreciation and applause by this devoted fan base.
The only critique I have during in this set is that there doesn’t seem to be much versatility in terms of the sound in each song and appears like similar and therefore can become repetitive.
However, the band more than make up for this with a cover of ‘Insomnia’ by Faithless which is thoroughly enjoyed by the crowd.
