SOUTHERN hardcore rockers Hundred Reasons drew a packed crowd in the upstairs venue of 53 degrees, securing their return to popularity with latest album 'Kill Your Own’.

The Berkshire based quintet offered the sizable crowd a host of impressive renditions, including 'Silver’, 'No Pretending´ and fan favourite 'If I Could’. The tracks played demonstrate the range of the band’s sound: from the anger and fury of 'Live Fast, Die Ugly’ to the melodic tranquillity of 'The Chance’.

Ben Doyle, the newest member, who joined late last year from The Lucky Nines to replace departing guitarist/singer Paul Townsend, seemed uncomfortable with the attention when lead vocalist Colin introduced him to the crowd, but proved himself as a musically capable replacement.

The size of the venue added to the intimacy and excitement of the gig, as the crowd were barely out of arms reach of the band, and at one point the band adjusted their set list to play 'Drowning’ after a request from a sign of one keen fan.

The band were originally due to play the venue in December, but pulled out because of vocal problems. This time around though, Colin Doran’s vocal skills were surpassed only by the bands overall stage presence and distinct musical talent.
