There were numerous DJ’s playing Fabric nightclub on Friday April 4th, but the man everyone came to see was DJ Yoda. He took to the Room One stage at around 1.30, and kept the floor dangerously packed for over 2 hours. DJ Klever preceded him, along with the hilarious Philadelphia based, Plastic Little.

Fabric was at its usual level of mayhem, and the queue was wrapped well around the block. All three rooms saw great DJ sets, some highlights including This and That, Meat Katie, and Drummatic Twins. However, the bulk of the excitement was centred on DJ Yoda, who was releasing his new live disc, FabricLive.39. The album will be available on Monday April 7th to fabricfirst members. It will be available to the U.K. and rest of the world on April 14th, and out in the U.S. on May 13th.

Yoda’s set was a mix of all imaginable styles and artists. Whether he was spinning the Chemical Brothers or Ben. E. King, the crowd was at his disposal. They danced through hip-hop mixes of Wiley, Ice Cube, Salt N Pepa, and Run DMC, but were equally moved by takes on songs from Handsome Boy Modelling School and Minnie Ripperton.

Must sees from Fabric in the near future include a room three set from Hercules & Love Affair on May 3rd, and a DJ set from Sam Sparro on April 11th.
