Spear of Destiny

An agonising 3 support bands later, Spear of Destiny appeared on stage.

Kirk Brandon, now the only original member of the band remains unchanged, even sporting the same floppy fringed hairdo.

The set began with Rainmaker and continued with memorable oldies such as Liberator (the most famous) and Prisoner of Love. It was nice to hear front man Brandon’s voice hadn’t deteriorated and still remained as powerful as when we were all was sporting painted on black eyebrows and wearing far too much crushed velvet. However, on this occasion the band were not met with as much enthusiasm as in latter days by their now ageing audience, never the less, it was nice to see the band in a much smaller venue before continuing on their tour around the various O2 Academies.
