Under Control, the new single from Good Shoes is all angular guitars, nodding heads and punchy jabs of lyrical irritation recalling the likes of Franz Ferdinand and The Rakes. With an infectious rhythm that will prompt the sharpest of moves on the dance floor, it's a good introduction to their second album if arguably a little dated. "The more I get the less I need it" voices lead singer Rhys Jones in a nod to his female, perhaps unwanted conquests.

Not dissimilarly B-side Talk is a 90 second punch of jangly agitation suggesting a hotel love in with Bombay Bicycle Club filmed by The Departure.
