Swedish electro pop band Niki & The Dove graced us with an exclusive performance of 'Last Night' backstage at the Lovebox Festival 2012. The Swedish band consisting of members Malin Dahlström (vocals) and Gustaf Karlöf (keyboards) have well and truly brought their striking Scandinavian pop to our shores attracting a large crowd to the Lovebox stage.

There's been quite a buzz surrounding them already as they've been championed by the likes of Radio 1's Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw and also came 5th in the BBC Sound of 2012 countdown.

The ethereal sounds of Dahlström is mesmerising, and the band as a whole creates a majestic sound that has pricked the ears of many music bloggers and enthusiasts. Their album 'Instinct' which has already been released this year is grounded in straightforward pop however they do show us some eccentricity which something I hope they expose more in their future music.

Performing at Lovebox they tell us how they love the 'freeness' of festivals and you can tell why as there escapist pop suits this with Dahlström getting lost in the music as she performs. Karlöf says "We have been given one life each, so why not choose to live it as fantasy? We are free within Niki & The Dove."
