Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival (6th and 7th August, Beauly, Inverness-shire IV4 7BA), which sold out in advance last year, announces another batch of additions to its ever-expanding line-up.
Mercury Prize winning singer-songwriter Badly Drawn Boy is the latest artist to be confirmed for the two day Highland Festival. His debut album ‘The Hour of Bewilderbeast’ picked up the 2000 Mercury award and 2 years later he scored the film adaptation of Nick Hornby’s novel ‘About a Boy’ to great critical acclaim. His most recent album and second full film soundtrack ‘Is There Nothing We Could Do?’ features music inspired by the motion picture The Fattest Man in Britain and was released December 2009.
Other acts confirmed include; 2010 Ivor Novello nominee Patch William; Glasgow’s 40 strong vocal group The Parsonage Choir; festival favourites The Dangleberries; Brooklyn folk singer Nels Andrews; rising local singer-songwriter Rachel Sermanni and Edinburgh’s Alex Gardner who will be joining us hot off the back of supporting JLS on their July tour.
The Lush Rollers are making their comeback appearance at this years festival. Rounding up this batch of announcements are Martin Stephenson, Joe Cassidy and the Bex Marshall Band.
These join Friday headliners Feeder, the Brit Award-nominated alternative rock band from Wales, have three platinum selling albums to their credit, and Glasgow’s Amy MacDonald, who headlines the Saturday night, has sold over 3 million albums and last played Bella in 2007.
Other acts confirmed over the weekend include The Divine Comedy, Bob Marley’s legendary Wailers, Candi Staton, the queen of southern soul; Brighton rock band the Levellers; local heroes Wolfstone; Barra’s The Vatersay Boys; band of the moment Stornoway, Erland and the Carnival, Alex Gardner, Young Fathers, Unicorn Kid, The Woodentops, folk legend Dick Gaughan, John Otway and Beth Jeans Houghton.
