Duran Duran are desperate to play any UK festival this summer.

The 80s pop group, who headlined Australia's V Festival earlier this year, dream of thrilling a crowd in their home country but haven't been asked by any of the organisers of the main events.

Bassist John Taylor, 47, told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: 'Festivals are something we're developing. Nobody asked us to do any until V in Australia and it was a different vibe.

'I'd love to do Glastonbury one day. But we'll probably be in our 60s when Michael Eavis gets around to inviting us.

'The Earth will be frazzled and there'll be dust storms on the Glastonbury site by then probably.'

The band's next live show is in Paris with super-producer Mark Ronson. Duran Duran are thrilled Ronson has been recognised for his outstanding talents in recent months.

Taylor added: 'I've known Mark for years and he deserves his success. 'He is going to mash up our biggest hits for a 30-minute megamix and then we're going to try and play them live along with him. It should be fun.'

Duran Duran begin their UK tour on July 3 at London's O2 arena.
