Scanners release their debut album Violence is Golden on the 4th February 2008, through DimMak/Influx. It will be, preceded by the single Lowlife - 28th January ’08.
Scanners were formed in London in 2005 and signed to the American label DimMak a year later, the very same label that introduced the likes of Bloc Party, Klaxons, Mystery Jets and Rakes to American shores. They recorded Violence is Golden in the summer of 2006. It was mostly recorded at home costing very little to make, The album was produced by Matthew Mole, apart from Raw and Air 164 which were produced by Matthew Mole and Cliff Jones. DimMak loved it and the album was released in the US 06.06.06…spooky!

This year Scanners signed to Influx/DimMak for the UK and have spent the year touring the UK, America and France, culminating in a slot on the Carson Daley show in the US and headlining Les 3 Elefants Festival after Air to 10,000 people in France. They have 2 very special shows lined up before the end of the year. With a UK tour planned for early in the new year.
