Pete Townshend says he wants to tour Quadrophenia in 2012, but he's waiting for Roger Daltrey.
Townshend said at the Classic Rock Awards "I’m waiting for word from Roger on this. I’ve been ready to tour this since we did it last year at the Royal Albert Hall. Roger has been developing his own new band, and it’s proving to be a real epiphany for him. I am patient. As soon as he’s fed up being the boss he can come and work with tricky old me again in the old school band."
Madonna and her manager, Guy Oseary, reacted to the leak of the new track Give Me All Your Love. While the singer said simply "My true fans wouldn't do this," Oseary went into more detail.
"The plan was for new music to come out in the new year, and yet someone leaked a demo version of a song yesterday. I'm very happy with the positive reaction to the demo, but we are very upset with whoever leaked the song!!!"
Morrissey was forced to postpone his U.S. tour opener in Chicago when guitarist Boz Boorer had trouble getting into the country "due to a visa administration error." The show has been rescheduled for December 17.
A press release added "The issue is out of Morrissey's hands but it will not affect Monday's concert at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio, nor will it affect the rest of the tour."
The first fan festival to be authorized by the Jackson family, the Michael Jackson Fan Fest will be held December 3 to 14 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Brothers Marlon, Jackie and Tito will be appearing on December 4.
The contents of the home where Michael Jackson lived at the time of his passing, including his death bed, will be put up for bids by Julien's Auctions on December 17.
Jimmy Norman, who charted in 1962 with I Don't Love You No More (I Don't Care About You) (the answer song to Barbara George's I Know), worked with Jimi Hendrix and the Coasters and wrote the songs Time is On My Side along with a number of tunes for Bob Marley, passed away on Tuesday after a long illness at the age of 74.
Songs for Japan, the music collection that was for the benefit of Japan's 2011 earthquake survivors, has reached its $10 million dollar goal.
The album contained 38 tracks, including 21 Billboard Hot 100 hits and five number 1's, and was released on March 25 (14 days after the earthquake) with the cooperation of EMI, Sony, Universal and Warner Music.
