Alanis Morissette is reportedly suing her former housekeeper for kidnapping her dog.
The singer is apparently claiming the employee stole the dog out of revenge after they fired her, reports TMZ.
Alanis and husband Mario Treadway found the dog, a stray Chihuahua/Pug mix, roaming the streets in May 2011.
They took the dog to a shelter and when no one claimed it, they adopted the pup themselves and named it Circus.
The outlet goes on to say that when Alanis and Mario fired their housekeeper Maria Garcia in January, she took the dog with her and refused to return it.
Maria apparently contacted the singer’s business manager and said she wanted the pet because she took care of it while Alanis and Mario were on the road.
The musician is now “out for blood” and suing for over $25K as well as asking a judge to order the dog be returned.
This is not the first time Alanis has had trouble with her staff. In 2013 she was sued by nanny Bianco Cambeiro, who says the singer made her work a 12-hour shift looking after her son Ever without a break, according to TMZ.
Bianco was hired by the couple from August 2011 to March 2013, and sued for $100,00, citing physical, mental and emotional injuries and distress, pain and suffering, lost wages and benefits and health care expenses.
She also claimed she was denied more than $30,000 in unpaid overtime and other wages.
