Evan Ross says he and wife Ashlee Simpson’s son Bronx are “homies”.
The 26-year-old and his 30-year-old spouse tied the knot back in August. And opening up about their special day, Evan said he did his utmost to make sure six-year-old Bronx, whose father is Ashlee’s ex-husband Pete Wentz, felt as included as possible.
“He was so excited when we got married,” Evan said during an appearance on The Wendy Williams Show on Thursday. “I was like, ‘It’s just as much your wedding as ours.’ ”
Now that Evan and Ashlee are married, the musician adds that Bronx has fully accepted him as part of the family.
So much so that he considers Bronx to be his “homie”.
“He’s my friend, we became like homies, we’re good buddies,” Evan said.
“It’s amazing. I can’t even tell you how incredible that child is — he’s unbelievable! He’s been a blessing in my life and I’ve learned so much from him.”
The Simpson family will soon be further expanding, as Ashlee and Evan are expecting their first baby together.
And following the news that the couple are having a girl, Evan admits that they have already narrowed their list of potential names down.
But one thing's for sure: they won’t be taking inspiration for the name from their fruit basket.
“We’ve got a few ideas, but we’re keeping that for us,” he said. “No, it’s not going to be Apple, Orange, anything like that … it’s going to be different though.”
