Rufus Wainwright releases 'Going To A Town’, a single from the new album 'Release The Stars’. Talent can certainly be in the genes and with Loudon as father and Martha as sister, Rufus is no doubt built to be of star quality.

Certainly his voice is both enchanting ,distinct and yet it can seem limiting as it’s ethereal, delicate qualities tend to layer each song rather than demand attention. However as his songs generally have difficult, unusual arrangements, this can be positive in the main, as it is on this lament about America and it’s way of life. The song ducks and dives around a haunting piano melody, never sounding commonplace or predictable, never easy listening. But there is beauty and presence, a song that needs and necessitates repeated plays. He seems on top of his game and I’m looking forward to the album.
