The Great Escape is excited to announce BBC coming to the festival for another year, with live showcases led by BBC Music Introducing, 6 Music and 1Xtra at Brighton’s beautiful Paganini Ballroom (The Old Ship).
The festival’s full schedule which can be seen here, including massive emerging artists such as Blithe, Celeste, Jockstrap, Sneakbo, TianaMajor9, YAK + many more. Huge line-ups have also been announced across partnerships with Fiction Records, Annie Mac Presents and Moshi Moshi Records.
The Great Escape, the festival for new music, will be kicking off festival season by playing host to over 450 up and coming artists and a music-led conference across 35 walkable venues from 8-11 May 2019 in Brighton, England. Tickets start from £75 and are on sale here, with tickets to The Late Escape on sale from £8 [free entry for The Great Escape wristband holders].
PARTNER LINE-UPS ANNOUNCED
Annie Mac Presents will bring a mix of emerging talent from across the genres of pop, dance and R&B to The Deep End, Beach Site on Thursday 9 May, including 404, Flohio, girl in red, L Devine, Little Simz + more. UK label Fiction, home of The Cure for over 20 years, will be celebrating it’s 40th birthday at The Great Escape with performances from The Amazons, Mini Mansions, Pumarosa and newcomers Lion and Another Sky at Coalition on Saturday 11 May. All proceeds from Fiction-branded merch including a limited-edition print designed by Isabel from Pumarosa will go to WarChild. To mark their 20th anniversary, Moshi Moshi Records announce their hugely tipped breakout stage at One Church on the Saturday of the festival, with artists inc. Du Blonde, Flamingods, The Rhythm Method, + more.
FULL SCHEDULE FOR TGE CONFERENCE
The full schedule is now online here for the TGE Conference, including the three full day TGE+CMU conferences, a series of partner panels and a whole programme of networking sessions and parties. The TGE Conference is open to delegates only on Wednesday 8, Thursday 9 and Friday 10 May, however on Saturday 11 May the O2 Presents: DIY Academy programme is open to all attendees who have a pass to the festival.
SPEED MEETING SESSIONS PRESENTED BY THE DEPT. OF INTERNATIONAL TRADE
Sign up is now open for The Great Escape’s speed meeting sessions with international delegates. Presented by the Department of International Trade, these sessions offer UK Delegates the opportunity to schedule focussed meetings with bookers, agents, music supervisors who have travelled from around the world to speak to UK artists and companies. There will be two sessions, taking place on the Mezzanine at the Jurys Inn Brighton Waterfront Hotel full details can be found here.
PARTNER PANELS JUST ANNOUNCED FOR TGE CONFERENCE
Added to this years’ conference, The Great Escape have announced the partner panels taking place at the Jurys Inn across two days, from Thursday 09 May to Friday 10 May. Partner panels include; Attitude is Everything, a charity improving deaf and disabled people’s access to live music, The Slacker Guide to Helping Musicians, from Radio 1’s Phil Taggart, The UK & European Guild of Music Supervisors, with Netflix and Luther Music Supervisor Iain Cooke, Loud And Quiet and PPL, PRS for Music and PRS Foundation.
AIM HOUSE AT THE GREAT ESCAPE
Returning this year, The Great Escape welcomes back AIM House, a hub and home for the independent music community. The Association of Independent Music has teamed up with independent labels, artists and music companies to deliver a packed programme of interviews, workshops, after parties, networking drinks, breakfasts and mush more.

6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and Mary Anne Hobbs will be at the Paganini Ballroom for the 6 Music Recommends showcase, as they play host to electronica two-piece Jockstrap, Irish punk innovators The Murder Capital, distorted deep-rooters YAK + more to be announced.
Mary Anne Hobbs will broadcast her mid-morning show live from Brighton’s Jubilee Square on Thursday, from 10.30am – 1pm.

Introducing’s Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq introduce soulful songstress Blithe, genre-bending brothers Everyone You Know, gospel superstar JNR Williams + post-punk newcomers Working Mens Club at a special showcase live from the Paganini Ballroom, with live tracks recorded to be broadcast across the following week.
Also on Friday, Steve Lamacq will broadcast his 6 Music show live from Jubilee Square, from 4-7pm.

1Xtra’s DJ Target welcomes Birmingham rap star Jaykae, R&B singer Celeste and singer-songwriter Miraa May, alongside 1Xtra’s Hot For 2019 artists: Manchester rapper Aitch and jazz-influenced songstress TianaMajor9 + more as they take to the stage at the Paganini Ballroom.
DJ Target will broadcast his 1Xtra new music show live from 7-9pm and continue on until 11pm from the Paganini Ballroom. The show will be broadcast on both Radio 1 and 1Xtra at the same time.
