Erasure have announced that ticketholders for their forthcoming tour can enter a draw for an exciting ‘meet and greet’ experience with band members Vince Clark and Andy Bell. A competition to win a pair of tickets to their Manchester and London gigs has also been launched.
Both initiatives are to support the work of national charity Youth Music.
The ‘Blue Savannah’ synthpop duo has just released their new single ‘Love You to the Sky’ from their forthcoming album ‘World Be Gone’, set for release on 19th May. Their tour begins in Glasgow on 27th May .
Meet and greet
Erasure are offering a lucky fan at each of their concerts in London, Manchester and Glasgow the opportunity to meet them in person. To enter the competition, ticketholders should simply visit Youth Music’s donation page at www.youthmusic.org.uk/donate, select the gig they are attending from the dropdown menu and donate £2. Multiple entries are permitted. These dates are now sold out.
The offer is Erasure’s unique way of supporting Youth Music’s Give a Gig fundraising initiative. Give a Gig calls on musicians, bands, choirs and venues to fundraise through live gigs in support of Youth Music’s work with young people in challenging circumstances. The charity helps transform the lives of over 75,000 children and young people annually through regular music-making opportunities. Many face challenges such as poverty, disability, mental health issues or living in care.
Youth Music recently ran its inaugural Give a Gig Week from 24th to 31st March and described the week as a ‘phenomenal success’, with 118 fundraising gigs taking place all over the country.
The ‘meet and greet’ draw closes at noon on Saturday 20th May.
Win a pair of tickets
Erasure have also donated a pair of tickets to Youth Music for their Manchester and London gigs. The charity is running a public competition for the tickets. Entry is via www.facebook.com/giveagigweek. The draw closes at 11am on Monday 8th May.
Erasure’s Andy Bell said: “We’ve been moved by the stories of many vulnerable young people whose lives have been transformed by Youth Music. Music has changed our lives so much and we agree with Youth Music that every young person should have access to music-making opportunities. We’re supporting Give a Gig because we want young people to discover their own talent and feel positive about their future place in the world.”
Matt Griffiths, CEO, Youth Music said: “Erasure have given us great music over several decades and we’re thrilled that the band is supporting us on their forthcoming tour. The £2 donation ticketholders can make to win a meet and greet with Andy and Vince is a unique new fundraising mechanism for us. It’s a great way for the band to participate in our Give a Gig initiative and provides an exciting opportunity for devoted fans to meet the band. We’re delighted that Erasure recognise the value of our work with young people in challenging circumstances and wish them every success with their new album and tour.”
