Zayn Malik has apologised to fans for cancelling a concert at the last minute.
The Dusk Till Dawn singer was due to go onstage at the O2 City Hall in Newcastle, England as part of his Stairway to the Sky Tour on Tuesday night.
However, shortly before the gig was meant to start, concertgoers received an email announcing that the show was "no longer possible".
"We apologise for the late notice, it was his hope that he would be able to continue with the show," the message reads, according to MailOnline. "But this is no longer possible. Please contact your point of purchase for reschedule or refunds. If you have parents or guardians collecting you, please stay in the auditorium and wait to be collected."
Later on, Zayn took to his Instagram Stories to issue an apology to those who were already at the venue.
"I'm so sorry to do this but my voice just isn't there at all tonight and without it there's no show," he wrote. "I'm truly sorry to let you down, especially at such short notice... I held onto hope until the very last moment."
Zayn went on to note that he hopes to be well enough to perform the show scheduled to take place in Manchester on Wednesday evening.
"I'm hopeful with some rest tonight I'll be back onstage tomorrow. My deepest apologies Newcastle love you all xx," the 31-year-old added.
Zayn didn't indicate whether the Newcastle concert would be rescheduled.
It's not the first time the Pillowtalk star has made changes to his debut solo tour, which he is taking on in support of his fourth studio album, Room Under the Stairs.
In October, he confirmed the U.S. leg of the trek would be postponed until January 2025 following the shock death of his One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne.
