Singer Kelly Clarkson has confirmed she is expecting a baby boy.
The 33 year old announced she was pregnant for a second time in August (15). She and husband Brandon Blackstock already have 16-month-old daughter, River Rose, and Kelly shared a joyous update with her fans about expanding the family on Friday (23Oct15).
“In other news, River’s gonna have a little baby brother :) #itsaboy We’re so excited!” she wrote on Instagram alongside a picture of her little girl sitting at the top of a slide with a smile on her face.
Kelly first announced her pregnancy unexpectedly on stage during her Piece by Piece tour in Los Angeles. Through tears, the star shared the happy news with the audience, before admitting her spouse didn’t even know she would be telling them.
“I was not planning on announcing this, but … I’m totally pregnant,” she said at the time, “My makeup artist is backstage hating me right now. I just don’t want you to think I’m on pills or drunk …I’d like to apologise to my husband. That was not planned. I just didn’t want you to think I was crazy or something. Honestly, I’m just so hormonal today..." She then added, "I haven’t vomited yet. That is a freakin’ win, y’all.”
The former American Idol winner tied the knot with talent manager Brandon in October, 2013 and welcomed River in June, 2014.
Clarkson's latest pregnancy news comes just weeks after she was forced to cancel the remainder of her tour on doctor’s orders in September (15) - but for non-pregnancy related reasons.
“I am truly sorry that I have to cancel the remainder of my tour dates," she said in a statement. "I was so looking forward to sharing this tour with all my amazing fans in Canada and the UK. Unfortunately my doctor is telling me I have to stay on vocal rest, but I am working hard to get better as fast as possible."
