Adele’s new album, 25 has become the most pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon.co.uk. 25 follows Adele’s first and second studio albums 19 and 21 released in 2008 and 2011 respectively, both of which received widespread critical acclaim and saw recognition at the likes of the 2009 Grammy Awards and the BRIT Awards in 2009 and 2015, when Skyfall won Best British Single.
Only one day before the release on 20th November, the album has overtaken Take That’s first album as a trio III, Pink Floyd’s first album in 20 years The Endless River and One Direction’s Midnight Memories, giving Adele her first entry in Amazon’s top ten most pre-ordered artist albums of all time.
The artist also overtakes the likes Iron Maiden, Blur and Muse in the top ten pre-order artist albums of 2015 chart.
“With Hello in its third week at number one and breaking records as the fastest selling single in 18 years, Adele’s new album has now become the most pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon.co.uk,” said Director of Amazon EU Digital Music, Steve Bernstein. “We’ve also made this album available with AutoRip, so Amazon customers can get a free MP3 version of this highly anticipated record when purchasing the album in CD or vinyl format.”
Through Amazon AutoRip, customers who order CD or vinyl formats will receive a free digital download of the album in their Amazon Music Library on the day of release, and Prime members can get hold of Prime eligible CDs fast with next-day delivery.
