Ellie Goulding and boyfriend Dougie Poynter are "pretty sensible" about managing their long distance relationship.
The 29-year-old singer has been dating McFly star Dougie on and off since 2013. Ellie is one of the hottest stars in the industry right now, and will be performing at the Grammy Awards later this month (15Feb16), while Dougie is also busy with his band McBusted.
The pair do their utmost to sneak in time together, though Elle admits they try and stay "realistic" about their romance.
"We don't see each other much," she said during an interview on British TV show Lorraine on Tuesday (09Feb16). "He's out in LA working really hard, he's doing all sorts of things. He's started acting which is amazing and he's a complete natural so I'm really excited to see what comes of that. We figure it out - we are pretty realistic with things and we are pretty sensible about it, so we just see each other when we can."
Asked if there were wedding bells in the future, Ellie added: "It's just that kind of time when everything comes up in the air and you don't know what's going to... but at some point maybe!"
Ellie will undoubtedly delight fans when she takes to the stage at the Grammys, where she is nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance for Love Me Like You Do. However, the singer admits she is feeling somewhat nervous about performing her new track Army in front of her peers.
"It's the first time I've been nominated," she noted. "I've been before and it's an amazing night but I'm also performing. It's quite scary - America is just a whole other game with music. I'm going out there in a few days and it's going to be a hectic week but they have parties and stuff, but I'm sure the work and play will be balanced out.
"It is scary in that respect (performing to my peers). But you know, I want to prove myself, and sing a song that I'm so proud of and so proud to sing and perform so I'm looking forward to it."
