Jake Bugg releases ‘Bitter Salt’ one of the stand out tracks from his latest acclaimed album ‘On My One’, August 26th on Virgin EMI.
Written by Jake, and produced by Jacknife Lee, the track is a joyous sonic assault. Q described the track “as a pulverising electro-rock stomp worthy of the Killers” in their 4* album review.
‘Jacknife was good at adding strings and different sounds to the songs I’d already written,’ says Jake. “Bitter Salt’ was recorded as a folky thing but then I went away and came back to the studio the next day and Jacknife had put all these dance synths on top of it. Not how I imagined it would turn out but it sounded great so I kept it.’
Still only 22, Jake and his band have spent much of the year touring the world. A series of intimate London shows in March kick started the year to much excitement while stand out sets at both Glastonbury and T in the Park promise much for his 13 UK date UK tour this autumn.
