In support of their third album 'United Crushers', Poliça kicked off their UK tour October 14th and came to London's Roundhouse for their fourth night. Performing with such confidence but humbleness, the American synth pop band hypnotised every member of the audience with their musical spell.

Their obscure set up of two drummers, a bassist and lead vocalist meant that an entirely unique performance was expected - they didn't disappoint. Lead vocalist Channy Leaneagh took centre stage, drifting around aimlessly, completely lost in her own music. The psychedelic nature of the gig meant the audience were mainly still, watching in fascination.

The set consisted of a blend of their three albums 'United Crushers', 'Shulamith' and 'Give You The Ghost'. Each song merged into the next effortlessly, with the occasional humble word from Leaneagh. However words weren't necessary as her unique vocal styling took control. The use of pedals meant that Leaneagh created live reverb, harmonies and delay so each track sounded exactly the same as the recorded.

However dual drummers Christopherson and Ivascu were on another level. Hidden at the back, the two completely stole the show with mini solos throughout the night. The incredibly talented musicians should have perhaps been further forward as they were lost behind Leaneagh's movement.

Classics 'Dark Star' and 'Lay Your Cards Out' made the crowd move their head in time with the prominent beat but everyone was stood almost entirely still, hypnotised by Poliça's performance. Incredible musicians, humble people and fascinating performers, Poliça are definitely one to catch live.
