The lights dimmed, the music stopped, some guy shoved me in the back, I turned around, he was massive, I called him a c**t but only under my breath. By the time I'd realised I was obstructing the on stage entry of The Icarus Line the 100 Club exploded into a technicoloured sound bomb.

Aaron was looking uncomfortable on guitar and when he threw it to the floor and exited stage left, I got the feeling all was not going to plan. A glum faced roadie twiddled a few knobs, before changing the guitar lead and an eye shadowed Aaron rejoined his band. Joe played the part of a preternatural vampire to a tee, the darken eyes and pale skin contrasting with the long black hair to dramatic effect. The songs were played with a drive and passion now synonymous with TIL. The pace was relentless ‘Up against the wall motherfuckers' and ‘Party the baby off' seemed to click with the seething black mass but the George Clinton cover and b side off the up coming single ‘Hit it and quit it' was my personal favourite. Visually they never fail to impress especially Aaron who seemed to spend half the gig hanging upside down behind his amp.

After the show questioned on his acrobatics Aaron told us "You get a different effect with the feedback from the back of the amp, the magnets oscillate at a different frequency", Presumably hanging upside down also aids the process. Speaking about the problems at the start he continued, "I had problems with my tubes [Marshall amp]". We had a quick word with the roadie who told us a different story, "they always insist on using their own equipment, I told him to change the lead straight away". There's only one way to sort this out … FIGHT!
