Edinburgh’s Electric Circus may be the reinvention of a tacky city nightclub, but tonight the venue plays host to a phenomenally excellent live music experience. Headlining this evening are Nine Black Alps, with support from Sucioperro and local trio The Debuts. The Debuts are a chirpy threesomes who have been a big part of the Edinburgh music scene for years; tonight their performance is the potent clash of indie pop that has continuously gained them such a good name in the city’s unsigned circuit.

Second support slot tonight goes to Ayrshire trio Sucioperro, playing louder in Electric Circus than you’ve ever heard them before. Sucioperro greet their audience with a very sweet hello, before blasting out their set at a hearty speed. New E.P. 'The Dissident Code’ was released last week and was played tonight in its entirety, whilst Spider plugged the exact geographical location within the venue where you could find the E.P! Extraordinary bass lines, jaunty riffs and haunting beats; this E.P. is one of the best releases of the year, and made for a stunning live set from the boys.

Headlining the show tonight are Nine Black Alps, who literally have a grasp over the audience as the dance floor fills in the blink of an eye upon their arrival. Nine Black Alps perform a set of unexpectedly brilliant grunge anthems, a set that could easily slip into the same league as the grunge greats, Mudhoney, Pixies and Nirvana. In fact, the show tonight is the closest thing to seeing Nirvana in their peak 20 years ago.

Electric Circus hosted a brilliant live music experience this evening, with exciting sets from The Debuts, Sucioperro and Nine Black Alps. Electric Circus can now boast the ability to surpass other venues on the volume front, allowing all three acts to showcase their music at its loudest.
