Mark Morris of Bluetones fame boasts a warm welcome back to the Scottish capital since the popular GRV gig in august. He graces the stage tonight at one of Edinburgh’s newer venues The Electric circus. Poised with an incredible Bluetones back catalogue and tracks from his solo album 'Memory Muscle’, we are in for a treat!

And what a treat it is - as Mark fires off his set with a stunning rendition of the Bluetones classic 'Keep the home fires burning' with many a mouths happily singing away, a clear sign these songs are still just as popular as they were when they were released. 'Digging a hole' and 'I’m sick' are catchy tracks from his album and the more downbeat 'Unwanted Friend' still keeps you on your toes with a memorable chorus.

The obvious song of the night is 'Slight Return' sung by all, including a group of heckling girls on a night out who soon quickly disappear after, leaving the last part of the set to a more musically 'open minded' crowd.

Mark cleverly ends on the highly acclaimed 'Marblehead Johnson' much to the happiness of a slightly drunken man belting out the words and bringing out his air guitar, offering to dance with several crowd members.

Even though Mark wasn’t well tonight, his songs and overall presence are still highly respected. With a new Bluetones album on the horizon, Mark has done himself and the fans proud by touring up and down the UK keeping the fans happy until the new album appears! A job well done Mark.
