The panther of Soul; Beverley Knight, owned the audience and paid homage to the acoustics at the Royal Albert Hall with her strong voice she masters to the height of vocal perfection. A timeless venue in which Knight lit the flame and kept it burning solidly throughout her 90 minute debut.
From sensual ballads to classic favourites through to newly released material, her vocal timing and reach was captivating. Knight displayed stage presence untouched with her boundless energy and raw artistic talent. Covering Joplin’s 'Piece of My Heart’ showcased the pure power Knight’s vocal range holds.
Her vocal delivery on upbeat tracks of 'Greatest Day’ and 'Keep this Fire Burning’ lifted us off our seats drawn into the sheer g-force of her performance. Bringing us down gently, the prodigal soul 'machine’ sung the emotive tracks 'Gold’ and 'Made it Back’.
Her classic track; 'Shoulda Woulda Coulda’ got us caught up once again in her magnetic spirit as the Hall rose to their feet in awe of her ability to keep a note held until the cliched 'goosebumps’ run up your arms.
